Kli Castle

Castles · 5/1/2011 · Original language: Russian

At the small parking area at the foot of the hill on which the castle is located, there was a sign saying that:

The castle is open from June 28 to August 28. Every day from 10:30–12:30 and 13:30–18:00.
The ticket price is 2 euros; for groups of more than 20 people - 1 euro; for children under 12 or citizens over 65, admission is free.

At the same time, the ticket office was closed, and there were no signs of life.

But despite all this, we climbed the path up to the castle. This time the path was very gentle, and soon we came up against the closed gate. Without much thought, a way out of the situation was found. We had to storm the castle, not for the first time that day.

Kli Castle

The main tower of the castle dates back to the 11th century. The castle had two entrances - one on the north side, the other - on the south. The tower was very appealing with its interesting impregnable shape. From below, it has a wide pyramidal form; moreover, the entrance to the tower, apparently, was only on one side.

The castle chapel also dates back to the 11th century. In its apse, one can make out the remains of frescoes, presumably from the 13th century.
