Oradour-sur-Glane is a village destroyed by the fascists during the Second World War. It was decided not to rebuild the settlement from the ruins, but to leave it as a memorial complex, as a reminder to future generations of the terrible years of the war.

All the villagers, including women and children, were brutally killed by SS soldiers. Miraculously, only one woman and five men managed to survive.

It is shocking. Rusting cars left behind, bicycles abandoned in the street, overturned café tables.... Everything froze here at the very moment when they stormed into the town...
