The cave was first discovered in 1889. The total length of the cave is 40 km, but only 2 km are open to tourists. Padirac is the most visited cave in France. Every year, more than 350,000 visitors descend into it.

You have to descend this staircase, 73 meters high, before entering the cave. There is an elevator next to the staircase.
