Itinerary

Today we did nothing. Volchiy was working, and I was idling away the day.
After lunch we decided to take a walk into town. We wanted to go to the station and buy tickets for tomorrow’s train, but the girl at the reception desk talked us out of it — she promised that usually everyone buys them in the morning.

So we just walked to the center on foot. The guidebooks mentioned colonial-era architecture in Myeik. But all we managed to find was a church.

I already wrote that there is absolutely nothing to do in the city; the center consists of a bazaar and old dusty little houses. We walked along the main street and wandered a bit through the bazaar. We went to eat at the same café with “dumplings.”

In the evening, the hotel manageress offered to take us to the station tomorrow morning by tuk-tuk together with the other hotel guests. We agreed — it turned out to be inexpensive, and the station was far to walk to.
