CERN - Large Hadron Collider

Museums · 6/12/2010 · Original language: Russian

The European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN, has opened a museum to the public in order to bring the uninformed masses up to speed on what it does and explain what is what in its kingdom of physics. Admission to the museum is free.

CERN - Large Hadron Collider

A piece of the collider. This is exactly what the installation looks like in which particles fly at an unimaginable speed (although, in principle, a conceivable one — the speed of particles in the LHC is close to the speed of light in a vacuum, according to Wikipedia). The collider is 26 kilometers long. This installation was placed in a tunnel at a depth of 75 to 150 meters.
