Lom America

We learned about Lom (well, to be precise, Volchezavyr did) from the great and terrible Google Earth. Its photos were just too beautiful, and it is located near Karlštejn (about an hour’s walk or 5 kilometers away). That’s exactly why we visited it there — and we don’t regret it at all.

What’s funny is that the area of Lom is fenced off with wire, and every 50 meters there are stern, half-faded signs stating that entry to Lom is prohibited and that anyone who dares to violate this rule will have to pay a fine, a very large fine. But what’s even funnier is not that, but that there are such wide beaten paths there and so many people!.... Ridiculous.

The blueness of the water is simply stunning... You just want to dive in headfirst... into that alluring blue... Perhaps that’s why they put up signs and impose fines.

This is Lom, or rather a quarry. Something was once extracted here.

And this is the second part of the wreck — for some reason it isn’t fenced off with wire; this part is smaller and not as beautiful.
