In the morning we checked out of the hotel and rented a little moped for 2 days. This moped could be ridden across the river, so for a change we decided to stay on the other bank of the river, where we had traveled yesterday.
In the evening we found a little hotel on Booking, but decided not to book it and instead go see it first. The rooms in the hotel were very, very simple. When I asked about hot water in the shower, the owner looked at me kindly, but with some puzzlement, and said, “Of course the water is warm in the shower, look at the sun — the water heats up well under such sun.” But then he still brought us a huge immersion heater, saying, “Here, take this — if you want really hot water, heat some up for yourselves in a bucket.” The immersion heater later came in very handy, because by evening the water was still cold and using the shower was impossible — it was so tiny, tiny, the water didn’t flow out of it but sprayed everywhere. So we heated the water with the immersion heater and then poured it over ourselves with a ladle.
But the hotel itself was very lovely — birds were singing here, the restaurant had a view of palm trees and a rice field, and it was very quiet and peaceful. So we didn’t regret staying here at all. And they also cooked very tasty food and sold beer. There we drank the second bottle of beer of our whole trip. But that was in the evening and tomorrow.
And today, after checking in, we went to the other bank and decided to walk around the ruins a little.

Temple

Another temple. Inside there were beautiful carved black columns.

Here is another temple; there are a great many of them here

Some of the ruins here are paid, and we decided to leave the paid ones for tomorrow, while today we’re visiting the free ones.
Here is part of the royal residence and a well-preserved well with steps.

Well
And here is the royal bathhouse - from the outside, an unremarkable building, but inside it turned out to be very beautiful. All these structures are spread out at a considerable distance from one another, so it is easy to imagine what a huge settlement this used to be.

In the evening we sat in our restaurant. The atmosphere here is great, with dim lighting, lamps above the tables, and soft loungers. Someone was celebrating a birthday, and the tables were decorated with red roses. I don’t know where they got them here.
